Licensed in both cosmetology and barbering, Elaine spent her career behind the chair and running her own salon in New York, cutting, coloring and styling hair for women and men of every age and hair type. Now retired from the salon floor, she writes, reviews and edits Redounds’ hair guides, checking every style for whether it works on real hair, how much upkeep it needs, and what to ask your stylist or barber for. She has a soft spot for mature and changing hair, gray blending, and cuts that are easy to live with.
Victoria Barlow
Nail Editor | Covers: nail art, manicure trends and nail care
A licensed nail technician, Victoria ran her own nail studio in San Francisco for 18 years. Originally from Australia, she has lived and worked in the US for the past 20 years. She writes, reviews and edits Redounds’ nail guides, checking every design for whether it can be done in the salon or at home, how long it will last, and exactly what to ask your nail tech for.
Issam Hud Daher
Fashion Editor | Covers: outfits, seasonal trends, accessories and style guides
Originally from Saudi Arabia and now based in New York City, Issam has worked as a fashion stylist for almost a decade, including styling for Hollywood film productions. He speaks Arabic and brings a stylist’s eye to every guide: how pieces fit, how they work together, and how to wear a trend without looking costumed. He writes, reviews and edits Redounds’ fashion and style guides.
Heitor Botelho Coelho
Beauty Editor | Covers: makeup, skincare basics, tattoos and celebrity beauty looks
Born and raised in California to a family that came from Brazil, Heitor learned makeup artistry from his mother, a working makeup artist who took him along to her jobs from an early age. He has more than 20 years of experience as a makeup artist for fashion companies, much of it travelling across California. He writes, reviews and edits Redounds’ makeup and beauty guides.
How We Work
- The right expert for each topic. Hair guides go through Elaine, nail guides through Victoria, fashion guides through Issam, and makeup and beauty guides through Heitor.
- Practical first. Every look is judged on whether a reader can actually wear it, recreate it or ask for it in a salon.
- Checked claims. Statements about trends, products and public figures are checked against reputable sources. If we can’t verify something, we leave it out.
- Credited images. Each photo is credited underneath, and AI-generated images are labeled as such.
- Open to corrections. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.
